NEW YORK, June 19 - ICE coffee futures settled lower Friday pressured by last minute sales ahead of the first notice day. The active September contract settled 85 points lower at 96.90 cents a pound. Usual producers price fixing of contracts, that wait until the last moment, kept the July contract under weight, also pushing the switch that widened 25 points to -2.25 cents. Volume reached 52,865 lots, including 17,262 switches. The real was firm trading back to BRL 5.2875 during the session, however the currency lost near 6 % during the week. During the week, Arabica prices consolidated 10 points lower. Funds continued to add shorts as evidenced by the COT report data that showed the net short position added by 6,664 shorts for a net short position of 24,153 lots in the week to June 16. The open interest decreased 6,636 lots during the week due to closing of contracts ahead of the delivery period.
